Among them, the Biosafety Advanced Training Course organized by LSC together with the Biosafety Services of the National Biotechnology Center (CSIC) and the Center for Molecular Biology "Severo Ochoa" (CSIC-UAM) stands out.
This is a pioneering course in Spain and has been designed to offer an advanced level of training in biosafety and biosecurity, collecting the skills and knowledge that biosafety professionals must have according to the UNE-CWA standard 16335: 2014 Competence of the biosafety professional. The course complies with the standard's requirements on the training specifications. It counts among its professors with experts in the field and is endorsed by the Spanish Biosafety Association (AEBioS).

It is an eminently practical course with a timetable between theory and practice evenly distributed. Among the practical work, the course includes case studies to be solved by the students, laboratory practices and visits to Biological Containment Levels (BCL) 1, 2 and 3 national reference facilities. The course is divided into a general module about laboratories, which includes biosafety and biosecurity aspects for BCL1, 2 and 3 facilities, and two optional specialization modules on facilities working with animals and plants.
